People can be quite unsure of the commissioning process but it can be the most rewarding aspect of developing or renovating a property. It gives us a unique opportunity to put our personal stamp on a project in terms of choosing the style, materials and finish. This is especially true when using the many variations of metal such as copper, brass, stainless steel and cor-ten (rust finish) to name a few.
Last year saw us venture into some new territory with our aged copper finish which we produced for a very large door entrance. We took great time and patience to ensure the look was right for a very high end property as it was the first piece of art you experience in a property filled with collected artworks. We showed the client some samples and they knew immediately it was the right choice.
The same simple logic is used for all our projects regardless of size. You work with people to discuss the best way forward, show samples if necessary and give costs.
